After giving you the survey on what kind of music you liked at the beginning of the year, I was not surprised that the majority of you favored other music rather than classical. All over the nation, classical orchestras are losing audience as Mark Wood told you when he was here. Even the Minnesota Orchestra has been on strike for over a year as the administration of the orchestra has been trying to cut the orchestra's pay 20 percent to reflect the size of their audience. Mark Wood's answer is to make orchestra music more relevant rather than playing music by old dead guys. Here is a link to an interesting article from a gentleman who feels differently.
